Sparreholm's School Garden \u2013 An investment in sustainable development with a focus on children with NPF<\/strong><\/h2>\n

At Leader S\u00f6dermanland's latest board meeting, 205,068 SEK in Leader support was granted to Sparreholms Utbildning AB to run the Sparreholms School Garden project. The goal of the project is to create a school garden with the aim of promoting sustainable development and offering new educational opportunities for children with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF).<\/p>\n

\u2013 We are happy and very grateful for the support from Leader to be able to realize Sparreholm's school garden. Not all children learn best by sitting in a classroom and with this project we will integrate cultivation into teaching with the help of Jeanette Lindahl, who is a trained gardener. In this way, we create a calm and creative environment, and promote learning about sustainable development outdoors. Our focus is on including children with NPF, says Antonia Csanadi Broberg, acting principal, Sparreholm's school and preschool.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The project has a strong LEADER method. Local support has been ensured through collaboration with children, staff and guardians. The cultivation will, among other things, use ecological methods and materials to minimize negative environmental impact. This initiative is also expected to promote social sustainability by creating an inclusive environment where all children can participate and learn, says Kristin Vettorato, operations manager, Leader S\u00f6dermanland.<\/p>\n

Activities and implementation<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project will involve various activities including:
\n\u2022 Insect inventory and self-assessment of the children's experience.
\n\u2022 Drawing and planning of the cultivation and construction of cultivation areas both inside and outside the fence.
\n\u2022 Construction of compost and workbench for practical cultivation work.
\n\u2022 Collaboration with Autism S\u00f6dermanland to ensure that the garden becomes accessible and attractive for children with NPF.<\/p>\n
