The Leader project Service and Life in the Countryside aimed to strengthen the development potential and create quality of life and develop local services in rural areas to facilitate living and doing business in rural areas. An important part of the project was also to strengthen existing service solutions and give them the opportunity to develop. The goal was that each locality included in the project would develop a vision and action plan that includes at least five concrete interim goals. Twenty local initiatives that in some way increase the level of service were implemented. The initiatives were implemented in collaboration with local actors. In the longer term, the project is expected to have contributed to an increased level of service in all participating localities. This can be done through, for example, access to digital rural trade, postal/parcel delivery services, meeting places for exchanging experiences and collecting, etc. The project owner was Leader Södermanland.
