Positive news for your project idea?
When your concept is deemed to be eligible for project support, it is time to apply for support in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's system. Below you can see how to make a formal application for Leader support. To receive support from Leader Södermanland, our basic conditions must be met, read more about them here.
1. Apply for a power of attorney from the Swedish Board of Agriculture
In order to make a formal project application to the Swedish Board of Agriculture, the person responsible for submitting the application needs to have a power of attorney for this. It takes a few days to receive the power of attorney, so it is important that you do this as quickly as possible. The power of attorney is applied for via a special form and sent by post to the Swedish Board of Agriculture.

2. Write your application in our templates
Now is the time to start concretizing your ideas regarding activities and costs. What budget might be needed and what can we contribute ourselves in the form of non-profit resources? Who should sign letters of intent and cooperation agreements?
It can often be easier to first write down the application in a document before you start filling out the electronic application. If you fill in our templates first, you can then just copy the text into the application. You can find all the templates further down this page.
3. Write your application in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's system
Once you have registered your power of attorney with the Swedish Board of Agriculture, you can start the application via their e-service, which you can find under "My Pages" on the Swedish Board of Agriculture's website. In the top right corner, you will find My Pages, where you log in with Bank-ID. You can use this guide to find the application form.

You can save and pause the application at any time to continue later. A budget must be attached to the application.
4. Submission and board prioritization
Prioritization is done in three steps:
1. Does the project application meet our basic conditions?.
2. If yes, the application will proceed to be scored based on the selection criteria.
3. The projects are prioritized based on the scoring. You will be notified of rejection/approval within three working days after the board's decision meeting.
5. Formal decision on the Swedish Board of Agriculture's system
If the board approves your project, it will be forwarded to the Swedish Board of Agriculture for a decision. It can take six to eight months to receive a decision. It is not possible to receive compensation for costs before the Board of Agriculture has made its decision. It is the Board of Agriculture that approves or rejects a project, even if the prioritization has been made by the Leader Södermanland board.
The Swedish Board of Agriculture investigates the project application and may conclude that all or parts of the project cannot be covered by Leader support. Please note that if you choose to start your project before the Swedish Board of Agriculture's decision, you do so at your own risk.
Attachments to be submitted with your application
Budget template you can fill it in yourself. Alternatively, you can send a budget to your project coach who will help you fill in the template.
The activity plan contains the project's activities. In the application you can refer to this appendix under 5.11 Activities.
Liquidity certificate that shows that you have the ability to cover expenses equivalent to at least 30 % of the project support you want to apply for. This can be a bank statement, balance sheet or loan promise.
Nonprofit resources You are expected to contribute to the project as a return. By putting a financial value on the non-profit work, local commitment is shown. Non-profit resources usually correspond to around 42 % of the project budget.
Non-profit resources consist of non-profit work and other non-profit resources.
- Non-profit work: Time for people over 16 years of age is valued at 340 SEK per hour. Time for people between 13 and 15 years of age is valued at 77 SEK per hour. Professionals may calculate the same hourly cost as they have for the same.
- Other non-profit resources: For example, it could be a space that you don't pay rent for or building materials that a company donates.
If the project includes private funding, the percentage can be reduced. Contact your project coach for help with the calculation in this case.
Letter of intent/cooperation agreement or similar for the organizations that will collaborate in the project during the project period. The document needs to state what each organization will contribute to the project, what benefit the organization will have from the project results, and thoughts on continued work for the transition to regular operations.
