The Vasa weeks in Strängnäs leader areas

Since 2015, the Vasaspelet association has worked tirelessly to bring to life the exciting story of the election of Gustav Vasa as king outside the Cathedral in Strängnäs in 1523. By setting up a captivating historical theatre in Strängnäs, they brought this pivotal event in Swedish history to life. Their passion and commitment created an atmosphere where visitors could be transported back in time and experience the drama and excitement of the past.
The Leader project aimed to support and develop the concept even further, by creating the best possible conditions for the Vasaveckorna event in Strängnäs. The project owner, Föreningen Vasaspelet, aimed to spread the event to the entire municipality and also include the surrounding parishes, resulting in a broader and more inclusive cultural experience for everyone. The goal was to develop a proposal for an organization that would keep the Vasaveckorna going and develop it until the anniversary year of 2023.
